Ladakh trek
This will be 11 nights including 3 nights in Leh and 8 days trekking in the Markha valley
£1250 per person includes 3 days in Leh half board
The trip will include 3 days discovering the ancient city of Leh
Visiting the the bazaar, exploreingthe old town and palace, and Shanti Stupa at sunset.
Leh Palace and the Old Town. The nine-storey palace looks over the town. Below it, the lanes of the old town are full of mud-brick houses, chortens and little courtyards, and a heritage walk is a lovely way to spend a gentle morning.
Shanti Stupa. This white stupa sits on a hill above town and is best visited at sunset. You can drive up rather than climb the steps while you’re still adjusting.
Namgyal Tsemo Gompa. This small monastery is perched above the palace and has prayer flags and huge views. Save it for day 2 or 3, because the walk up is steep.
Leh Bazaar. Here you’ll find Tibetan handicrafts, pashmina, apricots, and cafés for momos, thukpa and butter tea.
Leh is 3000 metres abov sea level, so the perfect place to acclimatise before the trek.
